ImportKite is a Shopify app that imports products into your store and builds product pages for them. This policy explains what information the app handles when a merchant installs it, why, and for how long.
Information we collect
- Store details from Shopify: your store's domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the app, used to act on your store on your behalf.
- Products and pages you work on: product data imported from the links you give us (titles, descriptions, images, prices, variants and, where the source shows them, public reviews), your pricing rules, and the product pages and bundle offers you create in the editor.
- Pages captured by the Chrome extension: when you import with the extension, it sends us the product page you are viewing. We read the product from it and discard the page; it is not stored.
- Usage and billing records: counts of imports, pages and AI tasks for your plan's limits, a log of AI requests (task type, model, tokens and cost, without their content), and your plan as reported by Shopify Billing.
The app does not read your orders, customers or checkouts, and we do not collect personal information about your shoppers. Pages and discounts we add to your storefront run on Shopify and send nothing to our servers.
How we use it
Only to provide the app: importing products, writing and translating product copy, building and publishing your pages, applying bundle discounts at checkout, enforcing plan limits and supporting you. We do not sell information or use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Shopify, which hosts your store, our extensions and billing.
- AI providers (DeepSeek, and Anthropic when configured), which receive product text to rewrite, translate or turn into page copy. They receive product content only, never shopper data.
- Our hosting providers, which run the app and its database.
How long we keep it
While the app is installed. When you uninstall it, we stop all work for your store immediately, and Shopify asks us 48 hours later to erase your store's data; we then delete everything we hold for it. Cached AI results, which are keyed by content rather than by store, expire within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data or for its deletion at any time by writing to hello@importkite.com. Shoppers' privacy requests received through Shopify are answered as well; as we hold no shopper data, there is nothing to export or erase.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Access is limited to your own store's data, and API keys are kept out of the code and out of the database.
Changes
We will update this page when the app's handling of data changes, and change the date above.
